Yardbirds relive 60's Beat Boom in Margate

60's legends the Yardbirds + Danny Giles Band play the Seaside Shuffle/Westcoast Live, 3-5 King Street, Margate CT9 on Fri 19th June
Join us for an exclusive launch gig for the new Yardbirds line-up before they head off to the USA. Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1992, the godfathers of Rock/Blues/R&B and Heavy metal are currently enjoying their most successful era since the late 60’s, starting the year in Canada. This special one off gig is a warm up for their 2009 USA tour. You can expect classics such as “Over Under Sideways Down”, (featured in the new Hollywood movie ’Observe and Report’),“Shapes of Things”, “Evil Hearted You”, “Train Kept a Rollin’, “For Your Love”, “Good Morning Little School Girl”, “Heart full of Soul”, The Yardbirds gave the world great songs between 1963/68 & great guitarists like Clapton, Beck, Page & Gypie Mayo. They now feature new guitar star Ben King “the natural successor to Jeff Beck” who joins original members Jim McCarthy drums & Chris Dreja guitar. The newest members are Andrew Mitchell a powerful singer, songwriter, formidable acoustic guitar player, new lead vocalist. & harmonica player with an economical style reminiscent of the original bands sound. David Smale is a brilliant new generation imaginative bass player. The band never sounded so good!
